What is an option 50?
Option 50 specs are those that allow even more customizability from the Kiesel Guitars custom shop. Entailing over 40 options, some of our fan-favorite specs under this banner include monster burst, candy, and saber finishes, as well as upgraded top woods and 3-piece bodies with a wood layer. Because of the specificity and uniqueness of the instrument that comes with Option 50 specs, the guitar or bass is deemed as a no-return build.

Finishes
Monster Bursts
A fan-favorite Option 50 finish, Monster Burst comes in two variants of the blue/purple scheme: original and reverse.
Original Monster Burst
The original Monster Burst, inspired by an animated character, uses a dark purple base with a deep blue burst.
Reverse Monster Burst
Reverse Monster Burst is just that: a finish that switches the purple and blue on the original Monster Burst.
Kiesel Treated Board
Also known as a KTB, these fingerboards are finished solely by a Kiesel, whether that be VP Jeff Kiesel or his daughter, Kaila Kiesel.

Elemental Finishes
Choose your next finish inspired by three of the elements: Arctic, Earth, and Fire.
Arctic
Appearing as if it was taken from the depths of the Arctic Ocean, Arctic goes through a multi-step process to create its signature deep blue, layered look.
Earth
With sediment and soil overtones, the Earth finish starts with a rich brown in the center to a dusty tint along the edge of the body.
Fire
The red-hot center and vibrant yellow edges mimic the intensity of a raging flame.
Hawaii Blue
The deep sea blue is inspired by the Hawaiian continental slope into the depths of the Pacific Ocean.
V Burst
The iconic V-Burst pattern can be sprayed on the instrument at the customer’s behest.
Jawbreaker Finish
The Jawbreaker Finish can come in the customer's specified colors to simulate the multicolored layers of a jawbreaker candy.
2-Color Crackle
Add another color to a crackle finish for a unique, personal look.
Candy Finishes
Meant to mimic the colored, semi-opaque visual of a hard candy, Candy Finishes create a layered appearance that accentuates both the wood grain and hue. Available on the fingerboard, top, or both!
Candy finish colors include blue, pink, purple, aqua, green, teal, red, orange, and yellow

Metal Flake Infusion
Metal-Flake-Infused finishes are 3D in nature. The flakes fill the reservoirs within the wood, creating a cavernous effect that accentuates the varying, unique depths of each individual wood piece while highlighting the colorful sparkle of the metal flakes.
Saber Finishes
Saber Finishes join the Kiesel Guitars galactic line-up and create a translucent, vibrant finish over various kinds of wood. Available on the fingerboard, top, or both!
Saber finish colors include blue, green, red, purple, and yellow.
Saber finishes are done exclusively by VP Jeff Kiesel
Denim Finishes
In contrast to Saber and Candy, a Denim Finish allows for a natural look to shine through while highlighting the grain with color. Available on the fingerboard, top, or both!
Denim finish colors include black, blue, black to blue, red, green, aqua, and purple.
Saber finishes are done exclusively by VP Jeff Kiesel

Custom Fades
While a handful of fade finishes are offered on the virtual builder, the customer can take the option a step further and handpick which colors the fade will entail.
Custom Color Shift Finishes
Purple/Blue and Green/Gold are the standard color-shift finishes available on the virtual builder, but a variety of different colors can be requested at the behest of the customer.
Custom Colors
The customer can request a specific color not offered as a standard color, whether that be a car color, Pantone color, or anything else!
Custom Fades can be applied to the fingerboard and the body.

Crotch
The crotching effect is formed by a branch growing out of a tree, resulting in an outward-spreading pattern.
Chevron
The exclusive Chevron pattern creates a V-shape amongst the wood grain due to a rare type of tree growth.
1-Piece Top
Instead of a traditional 2-piece top, the customer can opt for a single billet for a seamless transition from side to side along the top of the instrument.
3-Piece Body with Wood Layer
Replace the standard 3-piece body material with a wood layer between the top and body woods.
Upgraded Top Woods
Every Kiesel model comes standard with a high-end, 4A-quality top. However, the piece of wood can be upgraded to various levels, resulting in even more unique and figured tops.
The industry-standard grading scale ranks wood on the “A-system,” ranging from A, or 1A, to 7A, also known as mastergrade. 1A is the bottom tier, being the lowest quality and basic tops, and 7A is the top tier, defined as the highest level that a wood can be graded.

5A
5A tops are a step above the Kiesel 4A woods used in standard builds.
7A
Also referred to as mastergrade, 7A tops are the highest-end tops offered within the guitar industry.

K-Top
K-Tops are the most unique top woods that one can get on their custom build. A K-Top matches and exceeds the standards of a mastergrade top due to its one-of-a-kind grain pattern that results in a highly-figured top wood.

Electronics
Custom Pickup Configuration
Customize the pickup type and count, or upgrade with a programming upcharge for desired, nonstandard placement
Custom Painted Pickups
Match the pickup color to your custom or standard-colored finish.
Wood Pickup Bobbins
Replace traditional pickup bobbins with your choice of Kiesel Guitar's wood slate, with the exception of buckeye, zebrawood, and spalt.
Custom Control Layout
Custom controls allow for the use of options such as push/pull pots or mini switches, as well as custom configurations and layouts to suit individual needs.
Custom Wiring
Custom wiring can include anything from deleting a tone pot to adding an LED kill switch, coil splitters, series parallel switching, etc.

Multi-Color Inlays
Choose multiple inlay colors from the assortment of Kiesel Guitars' inlay material
Fretless Fingerboards (Guitars)
The Fretless Fingerboard is finished with Hard-as-Nails, a coat that offers a little more sustain and brightness to the tone.
Different Color Headless Logo
The colored logos that are not shown on the virtual builder for headless instruments include red, blue, and pink.
Customer Supplied Material
The customer can send pickups, strings, and, in some cases, wood to be used on their build. This option must be specified and relayed to a custom shop expert before the time of purchase.
